This species is at the crux of my work. Not only is post oak my go-to for dendrochronology work & research, it is also an enormous sense of inspiration and comfort to me. Post oaks are extremely resilient trees, often growing through hot summers and cold winters with long droughts during both. If I could be a tree, this would be me. I have learned to value my resilience and allow myself to be both vulnerable and strong, working hard when I can and resting when I need. Sometimes we land in rocky soils, sometimes in rich bottomland. Regardless, there's a tree for us all. This is mine :)
